Gongfu Timer is a desktop application that times your tea steeps. It is built to be private by default. In plain terms: the app collects no personal data, sends nothing to us or anyone else, and needs no account.
Nothing. Gongfu Timer has no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We do not know who you are, whether you use the app, or how.
Everything the app remembers — your tea library, today's steep counts, your chosen sounds and settings, and the window's position — is stored only in a local file on your own computer, in your user application-data folder. It never leaves your machine. Removing the app removes access to that data; you may also delete the file yourself.
The app makes no network connections during normal use. It does not phone home, check in, or load anything from the internet while you brew.
If you installed Gongfu Timer from the Microsoft Store (or, in the future, the Apple App Store or Google Play), that store handles the download, updates, and — if a paid version is ever offered — the purchase. Those transactions are governed by the store's own privacy policy, and any payment details are handled entirely by the store. We never see or receive your payment information. See Microsoft's privacy statement for details about the Microsoft Store.
Gongfu Timer is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above. Because we collect nothing, we don't expect meaningful changes unless the app itself gains a feature that would require them — in which case it would be opt-in and described here first.
