You know this feeling

If you found this page, you probably love tea — and you love brewing it right there at your desk while you work.

You pour the water. You know it's forty seconds to the perfect cup. But forty seconds is just long enough: your eyes drift back to the screen, you start reading something, and five minutes later you realise you've over-brewed your good Tie Guan Yin again. Bitter. A little bit wasted.

I've done this far too many times. So I built Gongfu Timer for exactly that one moment — to make it easy to nail your brews every time, even when you're distracted.

Add every tea you're brewing, set each one's steep times, and it keeps count of which infusion you're on — with a fresh timer for every steep. When a steep is ready it tells you just once: a single, soft gong. No repeating alarm, nothing to dismiss.

How it keeps your tea perfect

Set it once, then just press play

Give a tea its brew times and it counts the steeps for you. When you pour the water, press play — it counts the seconds down.

Sticky while it matters

While the timer runs, the little window stays on top of whatever you're doing, so it's never buried behind a tab. When it's idle, it rests quietly in the background.

One gentle chime — and that's it

When the steep is ready it sounds once, softly. No repeating alarm, no nagging — just enough to reach you, then it shows how long the tea's been waiting.
